Education
Central Washington University has honed me in many ways as an adult and as a student. To be specific the Fashion Merchandising program has allowed me to hone my craft in ways that I did not know were possible. From my Principles of Selling class to my Consumer Textiles classes, I have had a great experience! These classes prepare us for the fashion industry as a whole. I know for me, that I still use the techniques learned in Digital Presentation Technique to this day. This class prepared me in a huge way for my own clothing brand and gave me a complete portfolio full of beautiful technical flats. Learning about stitch types and fabrics in this industry is extremely important in this industry and Consumer Textiles helped me with that. Overall, the program at CWU is very helpful in real life situations, especially if you are in the fashion industry. I'm proud to call myself a Wildcat for the rest of my life because of this school and this program.

Internship
I have not yet completed an official internship for CWU but I have completed one before and it was a life changing experience. In this internship I learned how to keep or build relationship with not only vendors but with my surrounding coworkers. Getting involved in the workplace is needed for job security and growth as a person. I would say what I would want to get out of my next internship is more of a personal experience. The knowledge I gained from my last one makes me realize I want the same experience but at another company with similar company goals and values. Brooks Running Shoes emphasized being a family and I am really eager to see what other companies value most. I want to use my degree at my job also. I want to start to make technical flats for my employer, let me give you an elevator pitch to secure my job. Let me show you what I have learned or honed from my schooling to build this relationship!
